A Knitted Frenzy

There have been three major accidents on my way to or from work in the last 24hrs.  And I'm not talking fender benders, I'm talkin' fire trucks, ambulances, smashed up fronts of vehicles, blown air bags, tires and axles on the other side of the road.

Two were right at the on and off ramps near my work and happened yesterday.  The third happened less than a mile from my house this morning.  I don't know if anyone was seriously injured but my prayers are with the families.  I don't think these accidents were the kind people just get up and walk away from.

All three happened within 15 minutes of me getting to or leaving work. 

Do you think Somone's trying to tell me something?  Would you take this as a sign?  And what kind of sign would you take it as?

I haven't broken my sticks

Just so y'all know, I'm still knitting.  Pluggin' away on my various socks and currently am engrossed in a project for someone that reads my blog so that's all I can say about that.  It's a kind of complicated project and I'm pretty proud of myself for taking it on.  It should be fabulous when I'm done.  So fabulous, I may not give it away.  :)  No, I'd just make another one.  :D

The black cloud has lifted somewhat.  I'm hopin' and prayin' that nothing else catastrophic happens at work and that I'll stop renting space in my head to jackass.  I think what started that whole thing (besides having a truly crappy week at work) was the fact that I have not found a dry cleaner as efficient and cheap as the one I used to go to two blocks from my old house.  My dry cleaning was literally piling up and I was running out of creative clothing combinations.

So I went to the old dry cleaner (28 pieces, y'all).  And just being on that side of town (because, yes, I literally live on the complete opposite side of town now) put me in an awful mood.  I think I had a minor panic attack.  I feared running into jackass.  I am just not prepared to see him in public, in a place where I would have to put on a fake smile and not rip his face off.  Because I simply have more poise and confidence than to do that in public.

Even though I will be heading back to that side of town today to pick up my last batch of clothing (yes, I took it in in two batches), I think I will be okay.  Because I have understanding friends and family that are okay with me hibernating at times and drinking too much wine and not wanting to talk about anything at that particular moment.  They know it will come out at some point, in some form or another.  And because I really am okay.

Moods can change in an instant.

I am in a foul one.  Since yesterday.  And it didn't change so much in an instant as it was a consistent slide downhill all day.  And now, the mood has stuck through the morning.  Not even my cat licking my dog's face cheered me up.

I don't want to be like this.  Moods like these make me think horrible things... like why jackass is the way he is and why my marriage failed and why I even think about this stuff.

The divorce isn't official yet but I'm sure even after it is I'll still think about why and how and whatfor. 

Why wasn't I good enough to stay faithful to?  Why did he even propose if he wasn't ready for marriage?  Why did he even bother with me?  How come he couldn't be honest with me from the get-go?  Will I ever know what it's like to be married to someone that is truly in love with me?  Will we have children?  Will I ever get to experience that?  Why did he have to screw around and waste 3+ years of my life?

As you can see, my questions follow no pattern, no logic.  Just why.  Why do I have to feel cheated when he's out galvanting around?  I don't want him back, I don't want the travesty that was our marriage back.  I want those 3+ years back.  That's time I could have spent with someone that wanted to be with me.

Here are the pics from Dog Beach.  It was such a good day to be out there.  The dogs had a great time.  As you can see, they weren't alone and had several friendly visitors.  It was Jessie's first time at the beach, Sam's 2nd and Wrigley's a regular.

Interim Post

This is an interim post to whet your appetite until I have all my photos uploaded to my blog.

The coast was a blast!  B & I can be very giggly ON OUR OWN but put us together and WATCH OUT!  I think I split my sides at least 6 times this weekend.  And then add TAFFY to the mix and oh boy, it's a sight to see.  I think we might have scared lo-lo a bit.  :D  Love you lo-lo!

We were such busy bees the entire weekend!  No yarn shopping, unfortunately.  However, it was discovered shortly before we left to come home that there is indeed a yarn shop near my brother's house.  Will have to investigate on the next trip and report my findings.

We did buy wine!  Turley is a fave in my family and since I'd never been to the winery, we had to go.  For breakfast!  Yep, nothing like sampling a zin and delicious olive oil at 10:30 in the morning.  :)  Their olive oil is fantastic!  I bought a bottle of that and a bottle that has to sit in my wine fridge for TWO YEARS (remember, B, it's a lesson in patience!)  :)

A very fun winery to go to is Tobin James.  Sometimes, there are even free strip shows!  I learned this before going to the winery and after having been there, I can see why.  There are at least 8 wines to sample and wineries always give one or two more samples to try.  Given that amount of alcohol, plus the other wineries along the way, and shirts can very easily go flyin'.  Their cab is delish and so is their syrah.

Hearst Castle's tour #4 is great.  I took some good pics of landscaping (ideas, people, remember I just got grass put in at my house).  Our tour guide was fun and N was just in awe of all the grandeur:
